The Sin

He ran,
Blindly.

The sin had grown.
From the size of a walnut,
it had grown to the size of a man…
who chased him.

He ran,
Fearfully.

The man who chased him held a spear.
The man with the spear
sneered at him when he turned to look.
The man shook his spear as he gave chase.
“You’re mine,” he said.

He ran,
Desperately.

Up ahead was Brightness,
Loving Brightness:
An offer of Love to a child.
Refuge.

He ran,
Hopefully.

The Loving Brightness smiled.
Open arms gathered and enveloped him.
Love replaced Fear.

He loved,
Gratefully.

The man with the spear took aim.
“You’re mine,” he said as he hurled the spear.

He cried,
Regretfully.

The Face of Brightness smiled:
Christ smiled as the spear approached.
HE turned and His Side was pierced by the spear—
The consequence of Sin.

HE DIED. . .
GLORIOUSLY.

As Life-Blood ran from the Wound,
New life surrounded him.
Christ smiled.
“You are mine,” He said.
